The most important aspect of creating a harmonious community is the empowerment of the individual. What does “empowerment of the individual” mean? Simply put it is the ability of the individual to have power. The term “power” is not meant in an authoritative sense to enforce on others, but rather, the ability to have power of oneself. More specifically, for example, is to educate the individual so that they will have the ability to understand the intricacies of how nature works and how best to live with nature. The phrase “live with nature” is where Symbiosis Global plays an important role. Of course, there will be an interweaving of the four branches, but each branch focuses on the term “live with nature” in a unique way. The role of the education branch is to discuss these topics with lectures, literature and the many methods of communication.
The most important topic of the education branch is to inform and cultivate the ability for the individual to live in harmony with oneself, the community and their environments.
Subjects of this topic consist of:
- The balance and cycles of the environment
- Cause/Effect processes
- Utilizing optimum methodology
The purpose of the education branch is not to preach what is right or wrong, but to put forth the question of how to live life to its fullest and to strive to define what “fullest” means. The education branch is meant to unite people with themselves and their environment, mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually. The concepts of unity will be researched looking at many perspectives so as to include all facets of life.
The balance and cycle of the environment are the beginning of developing harmony in one’s life. This subject is the heart of the education branch. It consists of informing the individual what the balance of their environment is and how to best accomplish this. Such topics of discussion will include the type of diet one adopts, the consequences of different energy sources, the impact of materials used; from cotton to plastic, and the short and long term affects of our living, whether it be in or out of harmony with our environment.
The cause and effect of each individual’s actions will be of utmost importance in the “big picture” of the community. The most important factor being how the world and all of life are interconnected. Although this issue seems to be the easiest to communicate, it is of vital importance when one is faced with everyday decisions. The same water that we pollute from nuclear waste, fossil fuel use, chemical manufacturing and production to the simple everyday use of household chemicals of a toxic nature, is the same water that we as living organisms need for life. If we pollute our water, we pollute ourselves. The same is true for the air and soil. These three basic elements are imperative for our life. The purity of these elements will determine the purity of ourselves and every living organism on this earth. The issue to be conveyed is the importance of the effect we have on our environment and the mercy to which every organism is at, based on our decisions.
The term “utilizing optimum methodology” is the foundation of the bridge between the rhetorical concepts and the hands-on application that the education branch strives to achieve. It is the nuts and bolts of the philosophies discussed herein and is at close proximity to the branch of product information. This topic discusses how to utilize the concepts previously discussed by methods of building construction, transportation, energy consumption, agriculture and other material usage by means of optimal resource use, and reducing, reusing, recycling and respecting the material world.
The subject of Education is the seed that must be planted with care, thoughtfulness and compassion, which is vital for the concepts of Symbiosis Global to blossom to fruition.
